Busy and wonderful holiday time

Can't believe the holidays are over! They came and went so fast. I know we all say that every year but it's so true. We really did a lot of fun and wonderful things this holiday season. Haley really got into Christmas this year which made it that much more exciting. I'm sad to say I only have pictures from a few of the things we did. : ( In a way, it was kind of nice to not have to worry about taking pictures though. I could fully be in the moment and enjoy it, and not worry about getting perfect poses for pictures.

What we did this holiday season:
  • Took a horse carriage ride through the Deerfield neighborhood to see all the lights with some of our/Haley's neighborhood friends.
  • Went to Frisco Square to see lights display. (We actually went to see the parachuting Santa who didn't show due to the weather.)
  • Went to Grapevine and rode the Polar Express
  • Had a Breakfast Christmas Party @ our house for Haley's friends and the moms
  • Attended Haley's school party which was a birthday party for Jesus. The kids sang songs which was adorable!!
  • Attended a Christmas service @ my Mom's church
  • Minka, the Elf, was introduced to our family this year.  : ) (We started the Elf on the Shelf tradition with Haley and she really enjoyed it.)
  • Haley really got into all the Christmas movies and Christmas books this year. I think the entire month of December we watched/read something about Christmas everyday!
  • Baked and baked and baked goodies!!! : )
  • Decorated cookies with Haley Christmas Eve to leave for a Santa.
I'm sure I'm leaving things out but that's all I can remember. Just writing all those things down brings a smile
to my face. I love love LOVE the holidays!! Making such sweet and lasting memories with my daughter and husband only make me love it more. Can't wait til next year when our little boy will be here too!!

My beautiful princess

It was no surprise to Sean and I that Haley would choose a Disney Princess as her Halloween costume. She's very into princesses these days. I may be a little biased but I think she's the cutest Belle I've ever seen! : )

We had a great time trick-or-treating with all her little friends. It was a fun night.

Quick update with photos

I haven't been feeling the greatest lately so I'm sorry for the lack of blogging. For some reason this pregnancy is really taking a lot out of me. I'm tired around the clock and either have stomach issues or a horrible headache depending on the day. It hasn't been the best experience to say the least, but I know the end result will be worth it.

A couple weekends ago we went to the Dallas Arboretum for their Great Pumpkin Festival, and I've been meaning to post pictures since.  It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun. I had never been to the Arboretum before so I was real excited to go. It was so beautiful. I can't wait to go back again. Haley loves pumpkins so she really enjoyed herself. A lot of people were there and Haley was just all over the place so the pictures with her actually looking at the camera were hard to get. Hopefully you'll enjoy though!

Hope everyone is enjoying their fall!

This and That

Football season is here!!! My favorite time of year! Haley is supporting Daddy's team in this picture. Sean and I have agreed that since we live in Dallas, Haley gets to be a fan of my team, the Dallas Cowboys. But she can still root for the Texans as long as they're not playing each other. Unfortunately my Cowboys aren't looking too good. I've secretly started watching and rooting for the Texans. I'm just supporting my husband's team is all. : ) This coming Sunday the Texans and Cowboys will be playing each other in Houston. Some serious house bragging rights are at stake. PLEASE COWBOYS!! MY HUSBAND WILL NEVER LET ME HEAR THE END OF IT!!

 Look at that cheesy smile!

Yesterday at Haley's school they hosted Donuts with Dads. Haley was excited for Daddy to take her to school and see her class. She also loves donuts so I'm sure that excited her as well!

Sean said they had a good time eating and playing. I just love that he likes being involved in her life. I'm so grateful for the amazing dad he is. When I picked her up from school she told me all about the chocolate donut she had. Sounds like she had a good time!

While Haley and Sean were eating donuts I had my second doctor's appointment. I got to hear the heartbeat which was great and they said it was normal. Everything else was normal as well. Nothing really to report, it was just a basic check-up. I was a little concerned when I went in because I'm not really showing. The doctor felt my stomach and said I probably won't show until my 5th month and won't feel the baby move until then either. So, it's gonna be a lot like my last pregnancy. I guess not gaining a lot of weight isn't the worst thing in the world. As long as baby is healthy I'm fine with it.

Back in Action

It's been a whirlwind of a summer. Between weddings and family vacations it's been a wonderfully busy time. So much has happened I don't even know where to start. I'll try to recap as much as possible with as many pictures as possible.

For the Annual Johnson family vacation we went to Lake Limestone and stayed in cabins. It was a good time, but sooo hot. We got to take Haley on her first boat ride and take her fishing for the first time. She loved the boat! I was real nervous at first thinking she may get scared, but she really enjoyed it. I didn't take a lot pictures while we were there, because we were swimming and on the boat a lot.

I always love getting together with my family! We are a pretty rowdy bunch and like to have a good time.

A couple weeks after this vacation we went on another with Sean's family in Galveston. Haley had been looking forward to the beach all summer. She just loves it there! My mother-in-law's birthday was the day before we got down there so we had a nice birthday dinner for her on our first night in Galveston.

Uncle Brett and Haley

She does this stuff on her own! No coaching. What a little ham!!

Papa showing Haley the boats. We had a quite a wait before dinner so we all had to take turns entertaining Haley.

The next couple days we hit the beach! We had tents, coolers, beach chairs, magazines, and snacks. We were set!

My beautiful family

Our Galveston vacation was great as usual. We always have a lot of fun just hanging out with one another.

In other news...Guess who's expecting baby number 2??
We're having a baby!! He or she is due in April!!
We found out right before we left for Galveston. We had been trying for 6 months and honestly I was getting a little discouraged. I had stopped worrying about it and sure enough it happens the second I don't think about it anymore. I guess that's the way it goes!
As soon as we got back from Galveston the morning sickness set in. It stayed for a long time too! I just recently have stopped feeling nauseous around the clock. I still feel queasy here and there and I get headaches pretty regularly, but I hear that's all part of the package. It's been a rough ride so far, but I'm hoping it gets better. We had our first sonogram and it was very exciting for Sean and I. As a lot of you know our first pregnancy wasn't exactly normal. So, to us this is our "first pregnancy." It's exciting to see your baby and hear the heartbeat. We're just enjoying every minute of it.

Haley has been growing up so much lately. She amazes me everyday! We enrolled her in a Mother's Day Out program this year and she is loving it. She goes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2. She just loves going to "school." I was pretty emotional her first day. I just felt like my baby wasn't my baby anymore. I tried getting pics before her first day, but she was too excited and wouldn't stand still. I got a few, though.

She's just such a big girl now. When we drive to and from school we have actual conversations in the car. Silly topics yes, but she can talk and talk about anything. It's such a joy to have a little girl. She's just incredible. Speaking of being a big girl, she is now potty trained as well!! WOOHOO!! No more diapers for this mom (at least until new baby comes!). We did the 3-day potty guide and I just loved it. By the end of the first day she got it. The next two days were pretty much a breeze. I was so proud of her, and you could tell she was proud of herself. It's just a huge relief to be done with it.

Well, I think you all should be caught up with our life. Hope everyone had a nice summer like we did.
