Haley and the Carrots

Haley was cracking herself up last night while eating her carrots. It was too cute! Sean and I couldn't stop laughing.

Sean feeding Haley on the counter. Sometimes that's easier, because she has more freedom to move. She likes to be independent.

She knows what a camera is if you couldn't tell!!

Haley updates

Sorry it's been over a week since I last posted anything. Time just gets away from me sometimes. Haley has been doing OK lately. She's been a little fussy the past two days, but woke up this morning and seemed like her old self. She still isn't crawling yet, but she can get up on all fours and push herself backwards(sometimes forward). She rolls around everywhere!! I turn my head for a second and she's trying to get books of the book shelf. I think she knows she shouldn't be doing it, because I'll look at her and say, "What are you doing Haley?" She smiles and rolls over and tries to grab a book before I get to her and take her back to her toys. It's funny now but in a few months when we have to start disciplining her it won't be funny.

She's doing really well with all her baby foods. I think we've finally got into a little routine. I'm still nursing her in the mornings, but other than that she's taking formula. It's been working real well. I'm just not producing enough any more. I felt like I was starting to starve her, and she was getting REAL frustrated! Feeding her in the morning still gives us our time together which I enjoy a great deal. I was actually a little surprised she took to the formula as well as she did. I read all theses articles about how hard it is for babies. She had a few days of resistance, but once we figured out what temp. she liked her bottle at it's been smooth sailing.
Schedule: (times vary due to when she wakes-up)
breast milk
fruit/rice cereal
breast milk/formula
veggies
formula
veggies/fruit
formula
She drinks water out of a sippy cup periodically throughout the day. Next month we are going to start trying meats. She seems to like food, so that's good. Especially in this family!!

For those of you that don't know, Sean and I got engaged over the weekend. I couldn't be happier!! Thanks to everyone for all of your love and support. We really appreciate it!

Cover Model

I made some fake magazine covers to show everyone what Haley would look like if she won the contest. (We haven't gotten a phone call or letter, so I think we weren't chosen.) I think they are missing out!!

Father's Day!!

We went to Houston this past weekend for Father's Day. We had such a nice time hanging out at the pool with all the family. Haley got to spend time with her Grandma and Papa, her Great Grandma, Aunt Tiffany and her Uncles Josh and Brett. Haley just loves the water!! She had such a fun time splashing around. She was the star of the show the whole weekend. She is just so loved, and you can tell that's what makes her so happy. We can't wait to go back, and play in the pool with Haley again!

It's still hard to believe Sean celebrated his first Father's Day yesterday! I couldn't ask for a more loving and caring dad for Haley. He loves her more than anything. Her face lights up every time he walks into the room. When I see them playing together my heart just melts. I'm excited to see the dad he will become as the years go by. I'm so grateful for him, and all he does for Haley and I. He's an amazing father and I know Haley loves him so much. (As do I!)

play time!

Haley was rolling around cracking herself up. It was too funny!!

7 months old

My little baby is 7 months old today. I can't believe it! I cherish all the time I've gotten to spend with her. She's such a blessing. I love her more than I thought I could ever love someone. She makes everyday more interesting than the last. She can be a challenge at times, but for the most part she's a perfect little baby.

Almost crawling!!

Haley is almost crawling. She can push herself up onto her little knees, but she can't move forward just yet. She tries to scoot forward but usually just ends up pushing herself backwards. She tries so hard!! She usually gets frustrated after 5 minutes or so when she can't get a moving. I'm sure in the next few days she'll be moving all over the house (Scary!!). She already likes to get into everything. This will just make it easier for the little monster. : )

Her second tooth has started to grow in. She occasionally will grin at us and you can see her little teeth. It's so cute! I can't stick my fingers in her mouth anymore, because she bites me. It hurts! Her teeth are pretty sharp.

I've started to give Haley a bottle of formula every few days. I'm still nursing, but I'm not producing as much as I was. So pumping a bottle for her isn't easy. I've nursed for the full 6 months that are recommended, so I feel fine with giving Haley formula from time to time. She took to it right away which was really nice. I've enjoyed breastfeeding a great deal. It's given me the chance to bond with Haley and build an amazing relationship with her. It hasn't always been easy, but I'm glad I've stuck it out. The benefits for her and I are unreal.

Haley's started to sleep on her stomach at night. I always put her down on her back but she rolls over sometime during the night. Sean thinks it's so cute. I'll notice pictures on the camera of her sleeping on her stomach. He takes them before he goes to work in the morning. She still wakes up once or twice during the night. I give her her pacifier, and try to let her just cry it out. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Hopefully she'll start sleeping through the whole night soon!

Happy Baby

Here's an update on all the things Haley's doing these days:

  • Babbles, combining vowels and consonants. da-da-da-da, ga-ga-ga-ga, ba-ba-ba-ba(not ma-ma-ma-ma, yet!)
  • Sits up on her own. (Has a tendency to lean to far back or forward, though.)
  • Can stand holding on to her playpen
  • Works to get a toy out of reach
  • Looks for dropped objects
  • Can rake tiny objects with her fingers and pick it up with her fist
  • Rolls all over. Can push her self up of the floor and tries to crawl, but can't quite do it. She can push herself backwards though.
  • Laughs when tickled
  • Smiles constantly!!
  • Eating solids. (She really enjoys sweet potatoes!!)
  • Wakes up about once during the night just wanting her pacifier. Basically she sleeps through the night(WooHoo!!)
  • She loves the water. She loves to splash especially!
  • Enjoys being outside
  • Likes looking at herself in the mirror
  • She knows to smile for the camera : ) (it's pretty funny!)
I'm sure I've left off a few things, but I think that gives everyone an idea of what she's up to. She's doing everything typical of a 6-7 month old. She's just such a happy baby! We are so in love with our little bundle of joy!
