Pictures and Updates

This is what happens when I let Haley feed herself!! She LOVES pasta. I recently discovered Gerber brand pasta bowls, and they are cooked in broth rather than tomato sauce. They have raviolis stuffed with meats and veggies. She really enjoys those. She can feed herself without making such a mess so I enjoy them too!
Sean and I thought we had given Haley a pretty cool toy/playroom. We baby proofed the whole room, and filled it with all her toys. Well, Haley would rather be any where, but that room. I don't know if it's the gate and she fells restricted or the fact that we aren't in the room with her. We have a gate on one side, but the other opens to the kitchen(we basically made the formal dining into her room). If we don't shut the door to the kitchen she just crawls right on in. She'd rather play with the oven and pull my towels down then play in a room of fun! : ) She's being caught in the act in the pic above.
Whenever I hear the garage opening about 5:30ish I tell Haley, "Daddy's home!! Daddy's home!! Go get him!!" She'll start crawling wherever she hears his footsteps. She gets really excited and starts looking all around for him. As soon as she sees him her hands bounce up and down and she crawls right to him. And the first thing she reaches for is his name tag/security card attached to his pants. That's what she has in her hands above. She plays with that awhile, and then plays with her daddy.
No shock here that Sean and I both love football. So it's only a matter of time before Haley loves it too. She watches it with Sean and I, and claps when she hears the crowd clapping. (She's started clapping, and it's the cutest thing in the world!!) We bought her her first cheerleader outfit so she can cheer for Texas with us. She was moving too much to get a good picture. You can see what the outfit looks like though. She looked so cute!!

Back from my blogging vacation

Sorry it's been so long since my last blog. Just needed a little break I guess. Haley is 10 months old now and doing great. She's crawling and pulling up on everything!!! She can even stand unassisted. She hasn't started walking just yet but has taken a step on her own. It's only a matter of time before she starts walking. She has grown-up so much in the past month it is unreal. She has definitely become a full time job. (not that she wasn't before!)

Sean left Saturday for work and won't be back for 2 weeks. I was obviously sad because I was going to miss him, but I know he's bummed too because he doesn't want to miss a second of Haley growing-up. He loves his little girl so much, and watching them together is just the cutest thing. I was a little nervous about him leaving, because I get scared at night in this big house. (I'm 23 and scared of the dark..haha) Luckily my grandparents are coming on Wednesday, and are going to stay with me until Tuesday. I can't wait to see them!! They aren't going to believe how big Haley has gotten. It should be a lot of fun.

I'll write more later but I just wanted to give a quick update, and get some pics up of Haley.

Johnson Vacation

Father and daughter in the country

Haley was a little scared of Duke

Over Labor Day weekend we went to Brownwood,TX to visit my Dad's side of the family. We had a blast!! The boys golfed, the girls beaded, we grilled out all weekend long, had a big family luau, rode an inflatable water slide, and just enjoyed all the good fun in the country. Haley did pretty well, but she definitely had a few rough moments.

We got there about 6 o'clock Friday, and she was ready to get out of the car. We all just sat outside, and talked most of the evening. Haley went to bed with no problems, but when we went to move her to the camper where we were staying she didn't want to go back to sleep. She would fall asleep in my arms, but the second I put her down she'd wake-up screaming. After probably an hour of this I let her sleep with us. Well, we didn't take the bigger bed that night, so we all tried to cram into the full size bed(it felt smaller than a full to me). It wasn't very fun to say the least.

Saturday morning the boys went to play golf, and after all the girls showered we went to the mall. Haley took a little nap before we left and slept in the car, but that was all. We walked around the mall and ate lunch and then went to the bead store to make some jewelry. Haley was tired by this time, but refused to sleep. Their was just too much going on. She finally fell asleep at the very end and slept the whole time in the car, but wouldn't go back to sleep after that. We watched UT football that night, and everyone just hung-out. Haley was fussy at times, but not too bad. That night we took the bigger bed, and she slept in it with us. She did a lot better than the night before.

Sunday we set up for the luau most of the day. Haley swam in the kiddie pool, and I took her down the water slide. It was way too fast for her so we only did it once. My Aunt and Uncle have a horse, so we took Haley to see it. She was a little scared of it, but from afar she liked it. She played most of the day, and when all the festivities started she was ready to rock. She liked being outside a lot. She'd get a little fussy and we'd pass her off to someone else and she'd be fine. When she'd get fussy again they'd pass her off, and so on. She ate lots of new foods this weekend, and really enjoyed them all. She liked my Granny's potato salad a lot!

Monday I think we all were just tired and ready to be home, because she was pretty fussy all day. She really didn't nap well, and threw some fits here and there. She's teething so I think that's what the fits were for. The drive back she screamed for 30-45 minutes!! It was horrible. We eventually had to pull over and get her out just so she'd calm down. I felt so bad. We got her back in the car, and within a 100 yards she choked on a piece of food, and started screaming. We pulled over and got her out, again. After she had calmed down we got her back in the car, and sang songs to her until she fell asleep. It was a long ride home to say the least.

I think she was really tired from not sleeping a lot while we were there, because Tuesday all she wanted to do was sleep. She took 2 two hour naps!! And went to bed on time and slept though the night!! We really wore her out I guess. I had a lot of fun, and I can't wait until my next family vacation. Family is such a big part of who I am, and I know it'll be a big part of Haley's life too. I love my awesome family and so does Haley!!
