Fun with Haley

Haley loves to take baths! (She loves anything to do with water actually). She also enjoys her "freedom" (aka to be naked). Cute now, but not in a few years I'm sure!

When Haley gets really excited she waves both hands up and down and scoots both her feet back and forth. It's so funny!!

Finger foods Haley has tried:
Bananas cut up
Pieces of bread (whole wheat typically)
Avocado (she didn't like it at first, but now really enjoys it)
Cooked pasta
Peaches
Pieces of cooked potato

Things we are working on:
Waving (she sometimes does it)
Peek-a-boo (again sometimes she does it)

What she's doing:
Crawling
Pulling up to standing position
Walk with assistance
Feeding self finger foods
Knows her name
Talking and making sounds constantly
Likes to cuddle

Beach fun and more...

Sorry it's been awhile since I've written. When we got back from the beach I still wanted to be on vacation since Sean was. I'm back though! We had an amazing time down in Galveston. I was real nervous about how Haley would handle a change in schedule, location, and people. She did WONDERFUL!! We got to Houston Saturday afternoon, and she was real excited to see Grandma and Papa and uncle Brett. She went to them right away with a smile on her face. We put her down upstairs so she could move around and she started crawling across the floor!! She hadn't really crawled yet so we were real shocked. (She's every where now!!) So that was exciting, and I know Sean's parents were delighted.

Sunday we left for the beach. Haley slept for the hour car ride to Galveston. When we got there, we all went to lunch. We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe, and Haley loved it. She ate some food, drank some water, and looked around the whole time. There's so much to look at in the restaurant that it kept her pretty entertained. After lunch we went to the pool. Haley of course loved that and just played and played. It was getting a little late so I took Haley up to the room to see if she'd take a nap. She took a little one, but I think she was too excited to sleep. We went to dinner kind of late, but I assumed Haley would just fall asleep in the car like she normally does. Well, that wasn't the case and she stayed up the entire time we were at dinner. She sat in her car seat the whole time, playing with her toys, and didn't cry once. I couldn't believe it! It was at least 10 o'clock. When we got back to the hotel she went right to bed, but I was really nervous about how she'd sleep and if her schedule would be completely off for tomorrow.

Monday morning Haley woke-up in a great mood. She slept ok once I brought her in the bed with Sean and I. I took her on a walk outside that morning along the seawall. It was a beautiful day, and it was nice to have a few moments alone with Haley. I tried to take some pictures, but the camera kept fogging up because of the humidity. (I'm bummed because I took some pretty cute ones too!) After our walk everyone met for breakfast, and again Haley did great! She sat in her stroller and ate her breakfast like a big girl. We went to the beach after breakfast and Haley seemed pretty curious about everything around her. After I hosed her down with sunblock, Sean took her into the ocean for the first time. We were out there a few minutes and she got some water in her face. She was ok with it, but then started to rub her eyes and look sleepy. I took her back to shore, and let her play in the sand a little bit. She of course wanted to eat it so that was fun. I went through an entire bag of wet wipes! After playing a little bit I layed her in her stoller, and she took a nice nap. When she woke-up we played a little more, and then headed back to the hotel for lunch. She had a bottle, played in the pool, had people oh and aw over her, and then she took another nap. (The life of a baby!! : )) It was getting late, and I was getting a little nervous about her staying up so late again. I bathed and fed her before we left hoping she'd fall asleep in the car, and sure enough she did. She slept through all of dinner which is amazing, because we were all pretty loud. (well, just Josh! haha) Haley slept great that night, and even slept in after she had a bottle. It was pretty nice.

Tuesday we skipped breakfast to sleep in a little bit. Sean took Haley to the pool so she could spend some more time with his family. After swimming, we checked out and went to the strand for some shopping. Haley did pretty well the whole time. She just isn't much of a shopper yet : ). After lunch and ice cream(and buying the entire candy store!), we headed back to Houston. Haley slept the whole way. She was worn out!! When we got back to Houston Haley played for a little while, but she was pretty exhausted. She went to bed at her normal time and I was glad her schedule wasn't completely thrown.

Wednesday everyone hung-out by the pool. Haley is just such a little water baby. It's like she never gets tired of it. She could play and play for hours (and does!). We stayed most the afternoon. When we got back to Dallas, Haley had had enough of her car seat. She definitely wanted to be free by that point. All in all she did an amazing job. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect first vacation! She is an amazing baby, and Sean and I feel so blessed to have her.

Special thanks and love to all Sean's family. It was fun spending time with everyone, and Haley really loved it too. She loves you all so much and I know you guys adore her as well. Can't wait for the next vacation!!

8 months old

Water+Baby food=Dirty shirt=Shirtless happy baby!

We are going to Houston on Saturday and then to Galveston for a few days. So I won't be blogging for a while. When we get back I'm sure I'll have a lot to write about, though. It'll be Haley's first time to the beach and staying in a hotel. I'm a little nervous, but I've got all the supplies I think I'm going to need. (wet wipes, beach toys, anti bacterial gel, SPF 70 sunblock...) It should be lots of fun, and I know Sean's family is looking forward to spending time with Haley.

1st 4th of July

This is the picture from my moms camera phone. Not the best, but she still looks pretty cute!

The 4th and more

This past weekend was just more proof that Haley is a little ham! It started Thursday when my mom and I went to lunch and the mall. At lunch Haley sat in her high chair playing with toys, smiling the whole time. She would smile at our waitress every time she came over. The manager of the restaurant kept coming over to play with Haley. He loved her. It was almost time to go, so I got her out of her chair and was holding her in my lap. The manager came over and reached out to hold her. She reached back so I let her go to him. He walked around the restaurant with her for a few minutes and she was just smiling and looking around. He said he was going to keep her, and I politely said no. : )

We went to the mall after lunch, and by that time Haley was in need of a nap. She stayed in the stroller for a little bit, but Grammy gives in too easy and got her out. When we were about to leave, Haley passed out in Grammys' arms. Well, we had a little ways to walk and Haley can get pretty heavy. She carried her the whole way to the car though. Way to go Grammy! (haha) She stayed with Grammy and Papi that night, and they said she was an angel. I was glad she did alright.

Friday for the 4th we decided to take her with us to a friends pool party. Some high school buddies of Sean were going to be there as well as their parents. I really wanted them to see Haley since they hadn't seen her before. Well, we get up to the door and right before we walk in I realize Haley has made a mess in her diaper. I knew everyone was going to want to hold her right away, so I told Sean we need to change her A.S.A.P. We walk in and it's a swarm of people and oohhs and aahhs. I tried to warn them of her diaper situation, but some didn't care. I went and got her changed, and the second I did she was no longer in my arms. She was little timid at first, because there were so many people wanting to touch and hold her. She eventually got pretty comfortable and became the social butterfly of the party. She played in the pool for a little bit, and then we set up a bed in one of the back rooms and put her to sleep. Even while she was sleeping, people kept telling us what a beautiful and happy baby we had. None of the women there were grandmas yet, and now they wanted grand babies even more!!

We didn't really do much the rest of the weekend. My friend Holly was in town, and she got to spend time with Haley. Haley enjoyed having a new face in the house. She seemed to really love Holly which made me very happy. I'm so thrilled to have a a little girl that loves being around people. It just makes me so happy to see her being social and loving at this young age. She makes everyone around her happy as well.

I'm really mad at myself, because I didn't get any pictures of her on the 4th. (ugh!) I have a few on my phone, but I can't figure out how to e-mail them to myself. I'll try to get some of her posted soon. I might just put her outfit on her again, and take lots of photos!

My little baby is growing up..fast!

Attacking dada...

Haley is growing up before my very eyes. She's becoming her own little person. She looks and acts different lately. She's just so good. We went to Sara's baby shower in Brownwood over the weekend, and she did so well. She made it through the shower without making a sound. She played with Kennedi and kept trying to kiss her face. (I think Kennedi got a few kisses in their too!) It was so cute to watch. We went to eat and Haley sat in a high chair the whole time (we stuffed the high chair with a few blankets). She ate some baby food and played with her toys and was very content. As soon as we got in the car she passed out and slept the whole way back to Dallas. It was a good day!

Sunday we went to breakfast, and we put Haley in a high chair again. She loved it. She stared at all the people and was smiling the whole time! She ate and played, and again was perfectly content. The lady next to me told me how beautiful and happy Haley was. She just thought she was the cutest thing. Sean said when he was holding her outside, a big burly man told some people he was with to check-out this cute baby. Sean thought it was funny coming from this big tough guy. Haley just has that affect on people. No matter who you are, she'll just melt your heart!

She's been such a joy to be around lately. She loves to play and laugh. It's so fun to watch her interact with her toys. She's getting so close to crawling. She scoots, rolls, and reaches for everything though. She can push herself to a sitting position when she's on her hands and knees. It's funny when I turn around and she's sitting right below me just staring up at me. It's been hard to do anything other than play with her lately, because she's just so gosh darn cute!!

I feel so incredibly blessed every day to have such an amazing little girl. I really can't say it enough! She's brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. I'm so thankful she's a healthy, happy baby.
